I bought a few Redbox Promo Codes to share with folks here who are having skimpy holidays, or who just like to get free stuff.

There are rules to use these:
> They are only good from now until 11:59 PM CT on 01 January 2017.
> Use one code for each transaction. If you are getting two movies you have do a separate transaction for each one.
> They are good for $1.50 off. So, if you get Blue-ray you will pay the extra 50 cents.
> You still need your credit or debit card for the transaction. If you return the dvd late they will charge you the regular $1.50 fee for each extra day.
> You need to press the round Promo button when you are checking out, that will bring you to a screen where you can type in your code. (I did it wrong the first time I tried, but I was outside in the rain.)

I'm posting 15 codes. Take up to three. I'll check back, if they go fast I'll get some more.

I think this will work if everyone who takes codes will post a reply to this post and say which codes they took.

Posting here for the first time! I'm definitely going to try to fulfill some other people's wishes, but for now here is my list.

This year has been really, really hard. My sibling passed away in January and my dog in May, and we've been really struggling financially. It's just been a really, really stressful year, not made any better by my depression and anxiety. Basically, I'm just hoping for something nice at the holidays since we can't afford much atm!

1. Money. Finances are always tight, but they've been even tighter this year for a variety of reasons. My dad and I are both working on getting extra jobs, but bills keep piling up. My dad has a gofundme set up here if you'd like to donate, or you can send it via paypal to reeby10@gmail.com. Gift cards for places like Walmart, Target, Kroger, Amazon, or Etsy would be appreciated too!

2. Comments and/or concrit on my fics. I've been feeling very discouraged about my fic for a while and honestly there have been times I've thought about just stopping bc it's hard to see the point. Feedback is what keeps me writing, and honestly I'd really like to improve but don't really know what needs work in my writing. Most of my fics are on AO3 here.

3. A paid LJ account. I had one for a little while years ago and it would be nice to have again. Plus, I have a lot of fandoms and I'd love to be able to have icons for more of them. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] st_aurafina <3

4. Transformative works. I'd love to see art, podfic, sequels, or whatever based on my fics. My transformative works statement is here, but basically it says yes please and send me a link.

5. Exercise recs. I'd really like to lose some weight, but it's difficult to find exercises that work for me. I have asthma and haven't been able to get on medication for years, so most exercises are just too much for my lungs to take. I really like videos where I can watch what the person is doing and they talk through everything. Short, easy, low impact stuff is best.

6. Jewelry. I really like earrings of all kinds and I'd like more long necklaces. My tastes go more for the simplistic and I mostly wear silver, but anything would be great.

7. A vegan subscription box. I used to have a subscription to get a vegan snack box every month, but I had to cancel because I couldn't afford it any longer. I'd love to get it again since it's hard for me to find food to try here otherwise. I've tried Urthbox and Vegan Cuts and both are good, but if you know of another that would be fine too!

8. Advice on grad school. I graduated college in 2014 and I've been thinking for a while about going back and getting a graduate degree. I'd love advice on getting in to grad schools, choosing grad schools, the best programs, paying for grad school, or anything else. I majored in writing and anthropology (and atm am leaning more toward going for something in anthropology), so if you have experience with grad school for either of those that would be wonderful.

9. Donate to a local animal shelter. I'm really sad we can't afford another dog at the moment, so please donate or volunteer at a local animal shelter if you can. Or if you're thinking of getting a pet soon, think about adopting one from a shelter. If I could, I would adopt them all!

10. Do something nice for someone else. The littlest things can make the biggest differences, especially someone who is having a hard time at the holidays. If there's something you think you can do--buying them a gift, giving them a compliment, helping them with something, paying it forward, just saying something encouraging, whatever-- please do it!

If you'd like my address, you can message me here or email me at reeby10@gmail.com.

Hello, lovies.

This year has been a crapfest for us all. I extend love and sympathy to everyone. I really mean it. If I could give each of you a hug, I would, right now. Consider yourself hugged! ♥️

I am disabled, and live on a ridiculously microscopic fixed income. I am clever, thrifty and patient; life isn't easy I but survive, and in some moments, I thrive.

That said, holidays are difficult. I do not have a family to provide for, but I do not have one to care for me, either. I will spend the holiday with a friend, thankfully.

I've been a good girl. 👼 I would like to make some wishes!

1) Clothing! Getting good clothing in my area is a challenge; there is huge price and style gap between cheap, ratchet/trashy crap and upscale designer. Many, many shops do not carry plus anymore, or very, very little. :-(
=  Second-hand is fine if the garment(s) are clean, stain-free and in good repair.
= Tunic-length tops, long or short-sleeve, in cotton or high-percentage blends. I am US size 22 on top. Often an XXL will fit; usually a Old Navy size XXXL will fit me, if the neck isn't too low (they go deeeep O.O). Favorite colors to wear: brown, plum, forest green, dark teal, gray, muted, dark/medium blues. woven, loose-fit knits, even short dresses (think babydolls) - I layer them in the cold!
= Leggings/jeggings in same size/colors, 22W or 3XL. I know sizes from Asia are weird and tiny. I usually go with the largest waist size. Any matching solid color, and I always need black. I layer them in winter, and can even use them as PJs. Nylon and cotton are better than poly.; not the fleece or shiny kind; flull-length, not capri, so they reach the tops of my winter boots!

2) A teapot, simple like a Brown Betty, but any solid color is fine.

3) An electric kettle would be lovely, since my landlord is going to fix my stove between next week and never.

4) A decent new bra! I am a 44D (not 42, not DD!), without underwires or thick straps, as both cause me pain. Not a sport or leisure style, just a classic brassiere. Any color. OOh la la!

5) I need wool socks, socks with a high wool content. I wear a standard size; I have wide, size 8 (US) feet. I am diabetic, and must care for my feet. Wool seems to do the best job for me, keeping my feet dry and warm/cool all year round.

6) I love knitting tools. Wood/bamboo works best for my spazzy hands. I desire stitch markers (the ones that look like teeny-tiny diaper pins are great!), DPNs of any size or length, and the traffic-cone stoppers you put at the end needles (rubber or silicone). At this time I (gasp) do not need yarn! :-D Second-hand is fine, BTW!

7) I desperately need my hair cut. Like, at least a foot of it, OFF. I live in NYC, and haircuts here can be upwards of $100! So I keep growing my hair, and it is horribly damaged. :-( Not sure how to fulfill this one, but it is what I want/need)

8) Wish Listing: http://amzn.to/2gINczp

9) Amazon gift cards are always welcome, as they carry pretty much everything one could need.

10) Do something for yourself, your family, your country, the world.
These are just ideas:
Sign a petition, smile at a stranger, forgive a wrong, call someone you haven't in forever. Carry a reusable shopping bag, and use it. Buy a coffee or bottle or water for a homeless person. Smoke once less a day. Donate to food pantries, include toilet paper. Donate new socks and underwear to shelters, hospitals, nursing homes. Drink some water. Send an email to your elected representative about issues that move you. Read to a child. Walk a shelter dog. Take time for a relaxing bath. Smile at babies on the bus and train. Say 'thank you" and mean it. Cough and sneeze into your hankie or elbow. Drink some water. Watch TV with your kids and giggle. Get a flu shot (the flu really hurts!). Feed the birds sunflower seeds. Share your umbrella. Think of new ways to make life better.
I do these things. I do all I can. This, to me, is what living is. 🌷
If you think these things don't matter, imagine yourself on the receiving end!
YOUR SMALL ACTIONS MATTER A LOT.

♥️Thank you!♥️

Late last night I posted some small gifts for everyone. Just in case you missed it, you can find them here:

http://digitalwave.livejournal.com/709144.html

Because of being sick I'm even later than usual posting my list. Like I've said before, seeing the comm active, and seeing people's wishes granted, is such a huge present for me. I made the comm for you guys, to be a help, to maybe spread some joy. It always makes me so happy to see everyone using it.

No matter how hard things get I know I'm blessed. Both by the love of my family and by the amazing friendship and support I get from all of you. I really do love you guys. You keep me sane in my insane world, remind me that I'm never alone, no matter what. I can never, ever thank you guys enough for that. I'll sure keep trying, though. Thanks, for always being here to listen, for offering me your help and hearts. It means more to me than I could ever say and I never, ever, take it for granted.

My 2016 Wish List

This has been a rough year in a lot of ways, you all. I've made a fair amount of changes and will probably do more this year. This isn't easy for me. I've switched to day shift after over 8 years on nights, and this introvert is finding getting to know new people very difficult.

Plus I need to start house hunting. Yeah. Stress.

So I guess there's a small list of things I want.

1 - paid time/icons for my LJ here.

2 - Amazon gift cards. Probably to be used for books.

3 - Hot topic or horse.com or such gift cards.

4 - Miniature village parts in good condition - my current mini-obsession is making a little village, be it christmas esque or otherwise.

5 - geeky Christmas ornaments, particularly Harry Potter.

6 - Disney dvds, funko pops, etc. Harry potter anything.

7 - easy to make meals, particularly slow cooker ones.

Most of everything else I want is ephemeral (like a house or boyfriend who loves me). I can't ask for a nice TV or anything, really. So give to something like Horse Haven of TN or a children's hospital or Second Harvest of TN.

Have a good holiday, you all. Hugs to those who need them.

With being sick, and all it's accompanying expenses, we're pretty broke this holiday season. That means I'm trying to be creative for things to share with you as presents.

I've got some things that could be yours for just the cost of postage. One gift each for the Graze boxes, the Fitbit Charge is donated by Lee as a thank you for all the help you've given us over the years. The D-Link Wireless bridge is one that we don't need any more but it works great and could be useful for one of you guys:

Free to a new home goodies: )

Also, listed here you'll find a few of some of my favorite music artists. Please, share these wonderful songs. These albums, and anything in the Holiday Music folder, are yours to enjoy. Hope that you guys like them as much as I do.

Shareable albums: )

*hugs you all hard*

Guys, any help you could give Mandy would be greatly appreciated. This is such a hard time of year, especially if it includes worrying about having enough for your rent hanging over your head.

My name is Samantha, I am 27 and I have a 1 year old son.
I know I am a bit late to post, but in the last week my aunt has died and a dear friend of mine has committed suicide; so I have been super depressed. Im here now though, hoping for some cheering up this season.
So my list is as follows;

1. Tell someone you love them. Give someone a hug. Reach out.

2. Cards. Handmade, store bought, holidays or condolences; anything would be nice.

3. Clothing for a 1 year old boy. If you have any old clothes, it would be really helpful. Hes tall, so even slightly bigger clothes would work.

4. Cats. Cat-anything. Fabric, pins, pictures, scarves, mittens.. Etc. I really like cats but Im too allergic to own one.

5. Fabric. I like to sew clothing and little bears.. If you have scrap fabric, I can put it to good use.

6. Some spare change to treat myself to a nice coffee. Or to buy something to cheer me up.

Thank you.
Everyone, have a safe and happy holiday season and may next year be wonderful for you all.

My wish list is simple: money. I need to raise $500 NOW for plumbing repairs and vet bills or i am well and truly screwed. Already returned the Christmas gifts I've bought but it barely made a dent. PLEASE spread the word! If you can donate to my Go Fund Me campaign or buy something from my artist shop on Threadless, please do! I'll also do jewelry or design commissions, anything! Just let me know or let others know. Thank you!!! ::sneezes into her arm and tries desperately not to panic::

Hi guys! First off, let me tell you how happy I am to see all the new activity over here. I really want this to be a great holiday season for all of us, no matter how hard the rest of the year may have been. I know we can make things easier for one another, that's why this comm exists.

Just a bit ago I got a nice note from [livejournal.com profile] bradygirl_12 with some great suggestions. As of now I've updated my Links list for my LJ and DW journals plus the main Wish List comm itself. There are now specific links to the comm, Wish List Guidelines and the Wish List Clickable Banners. Thanks so much for the help, sweetie!

I'm hoping to be back in a bit as there are a few goodies I'd like to share, just a few little things but I hope that they might be things that will help or make someone smile. Until then, sure hope that everyone is having a good day, love you!

2016 Wish List

It's that time of year again for the [livejournal.com profile] wish_list! :)

I had a great time last year giving and receiving. It’s a great way to celebrate the holidays! :)

RL Gifts:

If you can fulfill any wishes, PM for my address (where applicable), please. My e-mail can be found on my Profile Page.

Please make a donation to your local food bank. It’s alarming how much hunger there is out there.

Chocolate! I’d love to get delicious quality chocolate from anyplace in the world (I had some fantastic chocolate from Canada years ago). My favorite is dark chocolate but milk chocolate is good, too. My favorite fillings are vanilla, chocolate, buttercream, lemon, raspberry and peanut butter. Godiva or Lindnor’s would be a real treat! Any chocolate welcome! ;)

Gift cards from:

Best Buy

Payless Shoes (I need new shoes)

Shaw’s Supermarket

Wal-Mart (I can buy a lot of necessities cheap here)

Restaurants (I chose national chains to make it easier):

Applebee’s

Burger King

McDonald’s

Pub 99

Subway

Wendy’s

Jewelry: I’m requesting two pieces. I want to spruce up my collection and also get a special piece for my sister. She is not fond of very delicate jewelry (big and clunky is her style) but it would have to be pieces that can be worn to work by a professional woman. No earrings as neither one of us has pierced ears.

Pentagram: my old one is not wearable anymore.

Fannish Gifts:

LJ paid account time/userpics

I especially need paid account time at Dreamwidth. My paid account expires in less than two weeks and I need that to continue transferring my LJ comms to DW.

Icon of Steve/Bucky (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

1970s Wonder Woman TV Series DVD (Pilot & Season 1 only, please)

Fanfic or fanart for any of my favorite characters/pairings/fandoms. Links can be found in the sidebar on my LJ.

Illustrations for any of my stories. Links can be found in the sidebar on my LJ.

Thank you! :)

Happy Holidays everyone! I hope everyone gets what they want and need!

My wishes:

1. I love getting and sending holiday cards. Please PM me or comment here for my address. I'd love to send one to you as well, so if you want one and don't have it on your wish list, please PM me your address! I'll be going through everyone's lists and collecting addresses for those asking for cards, but the more, the merrier!

2. I just adopted a three year old cat from our local shelter after my last cat died suddenly at 15. If you're planning to get a pet soon, please think about an older cat or dog. They don't tend to get adopted and it's so sad. My new Skye is just so friendly and loving. If you can't adopt, please think about donating some time--our shelter always needs people to walk dogs and brush cats--or some money or food or blankets/towels.

3. Most people, when they think of holiday giving, give to Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, the local shelter etc., and those are all worthy, but one I hadn't thought about was my state's Department for Children and Families. My church choir is giving gifts to one of the 50 kids who have aged out of foster care in my state since October (over 500 this year so far and we're a tiny state) to help get him started on adult life. Check with your state agency and see if they have a "Wish List" program for these young adults. They need every day things like towels, underwear, dishes--everything to start a home.

4. December is the season for giving, and in these turbulent times where half the US is unhappy and worried and the world is, frankly, a mess, try to do something nice for a stranger once a day. Something as simple as holding a door for a person carrying a baby, or shoveling an elderly neighbor's sidewalk, or, if you an afford it, paying for the next car in line's gas. Even a "thank you" to a harried clerk will be appreciated.

5. As for me, I don't need a lot. I do love vintage jewelry--especially clip on earrings and brooches, though necklaces and bracelets are loved as well (I have tiny wrists--6 1/4 inches and 6 1/2 inches--and older jewelry is actually made for smaller wrists). If you have some of grandma's old jewelry sitting around gathering dust, I'd give it a good home!

6. I'm a major coffee drinker. Locally produced, specialty, flavored (especially chocolate!), your favorite coffee shop's blend, I'd love to try it! Ground or beans is fine. I also love hot chocolate, especially white which is hard to find around here.

7. I have no artistic talent, but I am a writer. Art for any of my fics found at AO3 or my sadly unupdated forever website Meandering Muse would be gushed over and loved and shared with the world! Mostly I write Teen Wolf these days but all my older fics and fandoms are on my website--Buffy, SPN, DC Comics, HP, many more.

PM or comment for my address, or email me at: laurealexander@gmail.com

That's all I can think of. Happy Cheers to all!

Well, 2016 has been shit for many people. It started out shaky for me, but it went ok overall despite some drama here and there, but it was definitely better than 2015. But that's just me personally and I count myself lucky.

1. Anything on my Amazon wishlist or Amazon gift cards would do. We just moved a month ago from a furnished place to an unfurnished place and there are still a few things we need to get.

2. Paid LJ or DW time. Same username on DW as well.

3. A subscription to ExpressVPN if anyone's feeling generous.

4. Some new music that you think I might like. Other than stuff like electro, dance/club type music, I'm pretty flexible.

5. Snail mail. Holiday cards, postcards, would love to get some post! PM me for address.

6. In return, you can also have some post. I make my own holiday cards using travel photos I've taken in the last 12 months. If you want one from me, please go here and fill it out! :D

7. An ATG theatre card would be nice...

8. Well, unless you're a Time Lord, you can't possibly grant this, but more time. I just need more time to do all the stuff I need to do and you know, sleep.

9. Santa, I made this wish last year but you didn't reply, so I'm going to repeat myself again this year, Tom Hiddleston. If that's really too hard, I will take Chris Pine as well. ;)

10. For everyone to have a safe and peaceful holiday season.
[identity profile] shadwrayvn.livejournal.com
I've posted here before & have had some really awesome people help me out. I'm finally getting to a better place in life but still need a little help with some small things.

1.) A paid membership to Sam's club or Costco would help me out so much.

2.)Anything from my Amazon wishlist : https://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/1JNOIRWP4F3Q4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_an_wl_o_0Zxpyb8626BDR

3.) A Starbucks giftcard honestly I work nights in the ICU & omg the amount of coffe I consume is crazy.

4.) My unrealistic wish a Cannon EOS Rebel camera. I had to sell mine this past summer to pay bills & it broke my heart to let it go buy gotta pay bills first you know?

5.) My simple wish exchange holiday cards & recipes. I will be happy to pm my address for anyone who wants to do this.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read through my list.
